Paul,
What will you be bringing along this year to Lille?
Ofcourse I have my cavewoman-comics, and I also have some Red Sonja covers if I remember correctly, but just curious.
I hope my wife lets me go to the show on Sunday but in the meantime I want to be prepared _________________

I think I will have some copies of most of the comics I did covers for, such as Red Sonja, Darkness/Eva, and Astonishig X-Men (French edition).
I have a few What If FF too.
I'll have lots of orginal art. I was going to pack all that for Rich but then I thought I could wait for Lille Con so I can bring them.
There's cover art, interior art, lots of prelims.
I have also these:
These are A4 portrait/bust color sketches I'm doing before the Con and that people will be able to buy at the con. It's basically the same sort of commissions I've been doing in Baltimore, more detailed and finished than a free sketch. I was thinking to charge something like 50 euro for a drawing. Don't get me wrong, I will do sketches for free at the con, but we've seen last years that I just never can do enough because there's just too many sketches to do.
So these pre-done sketches are an alternative for people who won't be able to get in line or just want to buy one because they're more finished.
I'll do as many I can before the show, and will try to show them in a the folder I'm creating for them.
Stay tuned

Yup, I'll be glad to do that for you Julien.
You guys have to know Julien never asks sketches to the guests during his convention. He's proud of that, and he can.
I had to twist his arm (well not really coz he's a judo master) to make him accept a Batman sketch this year.
And that's true for all the Lille crew. They always let the fans be first. They never ask for favors. We don't see that often. _________________ Paul Renaud |

|
|
I'll try to scan more tonight if I have time.
n the meantime, two more:
To answer a few frequent asked questions:
1/ People going to the show and interested in getting a special character as a pre-done sketch can email me, and I'll try to do the sketches if I have the time. But they're not commissions, and I don't garantee the sketches will be done for the convention.
2/ People going to the show can ask me to hold one of the sketches shown if they're willing to buy it. If you have someone picking up the piece for you at the show, please let me know.
But please keep in mind I won't directly ship any sketch to each purchaser.
3/ I will send the remaining sketches if any, to Rich DeDominicis once the show is over. They will be availlable for American fans once Rich tags a price in $ USD including the shipping cost.
Hope it helps.
Best,

Hi Paul Renaud.
The pre-dones are wonderful. You bringing along original art sounds wonderful too. And you'll still be doing sketches live? Wonderful!
You have me enticed sir, as I will be attending Lille both Saturday and Sunday.
If I get the chance I might perhaps ask you for an Elizabeth Sherman sketch (she's from Mike Mignola's Hellboy's world), although I have also seen wonderful depictions by you of Nausicaä, Blueberry and The Rocketeer. And of course your very own Red Sonia and Cavewoman are totally sweet too. I make it a point to ask only for stuff that artists would like to draw. So I hope to see you at Lille . ~ Kees L. _________________ "Don't mess with me, lady. I've been drinking with skeletons." (Hellboy to Hecate)
reads: evt. Mignola, Moebius, M. Schultz;
hears: Slint, Knut, M, Radiohead, Daft Punk. |
